Dr. Risa Kagan discusses the use of bisphosphonate therapy for women discontinuing use of hormone therapy in a North American Menopause Society Menopause e-Consult. Her response indicates that treatment is dependent on the individual's fracture risk, appropriate in patients with high risk, but not routinely recommended for patients at low risk.
