FORE's Relationship to Doctors
The Foundation exists to help the medical community manage osteoporosis - from diagnosis to intervention and prevention to treatment. FORE offers medical education throughout Northern California for health care providers, provides information and resources to people with the disease, and participates in important research trials and programs.
Conducting educational events, building outreach campaigns, developing up-to-date resources requires significant contributions. To strengthen FORE's ability to reach a greater and more diverse population we need your help. The more physicians who support our programs, the more credibility we have with members of the community, corporations and foundations, and national research centers.
As you know, our health system often responds inadequately when a person breaks a bone as a result of osteoporosis. FORE wants to be part of the solution. We want the people who live in Northern California to know their bone density and their risk for fractures. We want our community to have information on how to talk to doctors about osteoporosis. We want medical professionals to understand the signs and consequences of not diagnosing osteoporosis and to help patients take the best actions possible for their health.
We are committed to delivering a wealth of options to support your care for your patients.
- Our Research division offers cutting edge programs that study and treat osteoporosis – participating in these programs might be appropriate for some of your patients.
- Our Education department provides a growing list of pamphlets and articles, updated with the latest information about osteoporosis.
